"ROME WAS NOT BUILT IN A DAY"

Image
Recently, I got inspired by my editor brothers and decided to learn editing myself. Those editor brothers, whenever they visited our native country, used to click on the photos and videos, edit them, and upload them in status. If I reply to them, they start to narrate their journey to me. But what I think about their editing is that they collect most of their memorable days and make them into masterpieces. Some used to upload bike rides, and I usually lament to them that you guys are lucky to be boys. You can travel wherever or whenever you want. You enjoy every moment of your life. I can only watch your happy moments, and they will start to lament about their history 🤣. Then I would die to control their lamenting.  Last year, one of my brothers asked me whether I was interested to learn editing, and I told him I don't even have time to study; then how will I manage editing?. But personally, I have an interest in editing, but the thing is, patience plays an important role in...

AFTER A WHILE...

It has been a while since I involved myself in cooking. Sometimes I help my mother with little things such as chopping vegetables, grating coconut, etc. The only job I do in the kitchen is preparing some kind of snack and fail at it. Recently, I tried grape pickles and failed at them. The biggest defect I have in cooking is forgetting to put salt in the dishes. But yesterday night I decided to cook something today, and I tried curd cucumber, and it came out well. Actually, I used to fail in most of my recipes, so I thought to myself that cooking would never suit me. But my mother used to encourage me, saying that everyone started at a lower level and eventually became good at it. I also prepared a special masala for fish fry, which was traditionally used by my grandmother. I felt for myself that my mind was getting a little bit interested in cooking. My dad usually tells me that if you think cooking is the hardest job, then it's going to be the hardest one. But if you enjoy cookin...

THE UNRECOGNIZED ARTISTS

Every day on my way to college, I used to see garland makers engage themselves in making garlands. Most of them were usually in serious conversation with the other one, but their hands strung the flowers without any mistakes. Actually, I have  an obsession with garland-making since my childhood. I still remember failing every time whenever I tried to strung jasmine. It usually gets loose and falls down, and I do some kind of patchwork. I know very well that my patchwork is clearly visible. If I don't have enough flowers, then I would go to my neighbor's home, where there is no girl child, and my neighbor aunty usually gives me whatever she has. I had short hair, so I wore it like a flower bow. Sometimes, when there is no jasmine flower, I string firecracker flower (kankaambaram poo) which is found commonly everywhere in my native. During family weddings, elders give some jasmine flowers to us, and even though they used to complete stringing those large amount of flowers, me a...

YOU'RE EDUCATED

Today, after leaving the college, I was walking towards the railway station. My battery charge was literally 2 at that time. The bright sun was sipping out my energy without any mercy. Even though I was under my umbrella, I was too tired to walk. When I got on the escalator, I felt better, but again, I have to walk. Again, even for the small distance from the railway station's main entrance to the subway, I used the umbrella because I knew I was tired enough. Somehow my eyes saw an auto, and I usually ask the driver whether it goes to my destination. But the driver was a little busy in speaking with someone, so I asked a college girl inside the auto. She told me that this vehicle goes to my destination. I got into the auto and took my energy booster (buttermilk), and started to sip it. It charged me, and that's why I called it my energy booster. During my battery charge, I called my mom and told her that I had gotten into the vehicle. Again, battery charging is going on. At th...

THE HULK AND THE TEDDY BEAR

Today I had part II English exam, and while I was preparing for it yesterday, I read the poem The Toys written by Coventry Patmore, and immediately two incidents struck my mind. This poem is mainly about the relationship between a father and his son. One night, the poet scolded his son, and he went to his bedroom in a gloomy mood. After realizing his mistake, the poet went to his son's room, where he saw the marks of tears on his son's cheeks. The poet saw some toys kept on the table, beside his son to comfort his sad heart. He learned about the importance of toys for children.  These two incidents happened on two different days, but in the same place. I was hurrying to college. On my way, when I entered the railway station, it was quite rush because a train had arrived at that time. Everyone was moving with their stylish trolley bags, but there was a little human being who had a back bag and a Hulk doll. He was carrying it like a baby. Closer to his chest. I think Hulk neve...

SNAKE AND LADDER

Image
I was traveling by auto, and there was a man with a snake and ladder board in his hand. It took me back to my childhood days, and I recalled tons of memories. I have 12 cousins, and I am the youngest who lived in my native. All the other ones were in Chennai. During summer vacation, everyone arrive to the native country, and we are called by neighboring people as 'battalion'. We used to roam around our village. Even during family weddings, it's mandatory for us to play hide-and-seek and outdoor games. Once we get tired, we move towards indoor games. Snake and Ladder was the most funniest game, and it holds many laughs. I still remember once my cousin reached the top row, and unfortunately, if the dice showed 4, she would be eaten by a big snake, and we all told her that this snake would surely eat you, and that happened. She started to cry, and we died in laughter. And there are some cousins who used to enchant the dice with mantras and make us laugh till our stomachs ac...

FAREWELL'24

Image
Today it was around 11 o'clock. I came out of my exam hall and checked my phone. There was actually a missed call from my chunk (best friend). I called her back, but she was actually busy on her call with someone, so I thought of leaving, and suddenly my VIP chunk called me back and told me to wait for her in the botany tank. Today I messed up with my hairstyle and ended somehow with ponytail and I knew very well that I would surely get headache and that happened. So I thought of going home. But the moment I saw my VIP chunk, my headache slowly healed. I think she is a doctor without an MBBS. Then we waited for our friend from Martin Hall, and then we started to walk towards Selaiyur Hall. On our little walk, the one from Martin Hall was telling about the dressing styles, and it was full of laughter. I forgot to inform my mom about the farewell, so I called her and told her that I would be coming home a little late. At this time, one of our seniors from III BA dressed up in...
