Nostalgic revival

Today we went to my mom's native place for a wedding. The auditorium was near the church, which was again near the seashore. My mom reminded me of her childhood, when during the Sunday class, she and her friends used to play in the sand. They also hide each other's chappal inside the sand. The bride's mom was her best friend, and I could see a different side of my mom. She went and hugged her, and I didn't expect that because whenever I asked her about her friends, she never told me any of the names. But today I could clearly see that she also had friends.

After having our wedding food as usual,we inquired about each other's well being, and I was mostly asked repeated questions by most of them. With a pop corn in one hand, I witnessed the huge statues of Mother Mary and Jesus near the auditorium. I was asking about it, and my mom told me that the statue was recently erected, as was the auditorium. As the auditorium was near the seashore, I could feel the sea breeze. That was a lovely day to have a revival of my mom's childhood memories.
